1. Scoring System (WT 2025)

  • 1 pt – valid punch to chest

  • 2 pt – kick to body

  • 3 pt – kick to head

4. Referee & Penalty System (WT 2025 + GTTF)

  • Referee discretion to deduct points, issue warnings, or disqualify for:

    • Excessive force

    • Illegal strikes

    • Unsportsmanlike behavior

  • Injury protocols and KO procedures per WT medical standards

5. Competition & Protest Protocol (WT 2025)

  • Matches subject to WT-approved Event Operations & Referee Regulations (2025)

  • Instant Video Replay (IVR) available for disputed head/body kicks

  • Coach protests must be submitted:

    • Within 10 minutes of the match conclusion

    • With a non-refundable protest fee of PHP 5,000

    • Reviewed by the IVR jury and head referee; decisions are final

  • All protest actions must align with WT and GTTF frameworks

GTTF 3v3 Relay Sparring - Grassroots Division

Divisions: Grade School A (6–8), Grade School B (9–11), Cadet Grassroots (12–14) Belts: White to Blue Head Contact: Light & Controlled Only

Team Composition

  • 3 athletes per team

  • Teams must be from the same age and belt division

  • No weight classes required but must be reasonably matched for fairness

  • Mixed gender allowed, if within same age category and belt range

Match Format: Relay Style

  • Total match time: 3 minutes (non-stop)

  • 1 point system across the team (shared score)

  • Fighters can be substituted ONCE per team during the match: Coach raises a visible flag to signal substitution Flag may only be raised during the last 10 seconds of any minute (2:50, 1:50, 0:50 mark) Referee stops time briefly to allow safe tag-in

    • Teams must be from the same age and belt division

  • Standard scoring (based on WT rules, simplified for grassroots):

    • Body kick: 1 point

    • Head kick (light contact only): 2 points

    • Spin technique to body (if permitted): 2 points

    • No heavy head contact or spinning kicks to the head allowed

  • Referees may deduct points for:

    • Excessive force

    • Illegal strikes

    • Unsportsmanlike behavior

  • WT-approved: Headgear, chest protector, arm and shin guards, groin protector, mouthguard

  • Face shields recommended for Grade School & Cadet

  • No match will proceed without complete gear

Tag Rules

Substitution Rules (Clarified)

  • Coaches may raise a visible substitution flag at any 10-second interval during the match (e.g. 2:50, 2:40, 2:30, etc.)

  • However, if a team has not yet used their substitution, the coach must raise the flag at the last 10-second mark of each minute — specifically at 2:50, 1:50, or 0:50, depending on when the substitution is needed

  • This ensures that the referee is always prepared to allow a substitution during those windows

  • The referee will briefly stop time only to allow a safe and controlled tag-in

  • Only one substitution is allowed per team, per match

  • Failure to raise the flag at the required time may forfeit the team's opportunity to substitute

Victory Conditions

  • Team with the most points at the end of 3 minutes wins

  • In case of a tie:

    • 30-second sudden death round with no substitutions

    • First point scored = win (Golden Point)

GTTF Official 5v5 Team Sparring Rules

(For Grade School, Cadet, Junior, and Senior Divisions)

Event Type: Team vs Team (5 athletes per team)

Match Type: Individual matches, best-of-five wins

Note: Head contact for Juniors and Seniors must still be clean, technical, and not excessive. Reckless or dangerous contact will be penalized.

Team Composition & Fight Order

  • 5 fighters per team, arranged by body weight from lightest (1) to heaviest (5)

  • Teams must submit lineup and official weigh-in results prior to match

  • Optional: 1 alternate per team (can only sub in before match starts)

Match Format

  • Each athlete fights 1 round (90 seconds) vs. their counterpart (1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, etc.)

  • All 5 bouts are played

  • Team with the most wins out of 5 is declared the match winner

Tiebreaker System

  • If score is tied (e.g. 2 wins each + 1 draw):

  • Each team selects 1 fighter for a Sudden Death Round

  • Format: 1-minute Golden Point — first clean scoring technique wins

Head Contact Rules

Grassroots Divisions (Grade School & Cadet):

✔️ Light head contact only

No spinning kicks, jump kicks, or follow-throughs to the head

No contact to back of head or neck

Juniors:

✔️ Controlled, technical head contact allowed

No excessive force or spinning contact without clear control

Seniors:

✔️ Full head contact permitted within WT standards

Excessive, unsafe, or illegal contact (e.g. blind spinning kicks to the head) will be penalized
